I have two kids in Beast Academy in their free time (they attend K and 1) and have been a subscriber for 2 years. Beast Academy has a ton of content and is very well done. There are ~150 lessons per grade level, grades 1 - 5. Each lesson has an accompanying video (~2-4 minutes, also well done), and there are many extension lessons for those that to go beyond the basics as well. It is well tuned for difficulty -- requires a decent amount of mastery to get through, but scales up in challenge for kids who can take it. My main complaint is that I think it follows the standard math curriculum closely and using "modern" teaching methods for arithmetic where they drill a dozen different ways of adding numbers depending on if it will wrap, large and small, etc instead of the one true way that I learned (add to 10/20, then vertical addition, then you're done). So that feels like lesson bloat and I think the kids got a bit bored of it after spending ~100 hours each. If you're looking for a K-5 homeschool math that is comprehensive and which kids can do independently, I don't think you can do better than this. Good preparation for Math Academy

I started TheHomeschoolingCompany because I homeschooled myself, and I kept being disappointed by the one-size-fits-all curricula that were the only options. I felt that the freedom that homeschooling allows was being squandered in these unimaginative, public school knock-offs that could allow us to totally reshape how we do education. It adapts to your kid’s interests, pace, and strengths, and it’s built to be practical for real life, so parents can support their kids without having to become a full-time teacher.

My daughter Alana's experience with The Socratic Experience has been profoundly impactful on her academic, socio-emotional, interpersonal, and leadership development. Learning complex, important things with like-minded peers and the highest quality teaching professionals, each of whom could be teaching at a college, cannot be underestimated.

I went for a visit to the space and a few students actually gave me a tour throughout the space. All students were calm, self directed, and purposeful. When I asked a student what she was working on, she explained the task, as well as how that task connected to the overall themes they were exploring the context of world history. It was very inspiring. The staff are kind, intentional and resourceful in suggesting resources that peaked my interest on the tour. Would definitely send my middle schooler here.

Math Academy is what you get when you meticulously apply learning science. The success they've had so far is a result of care and proven methods. Not pointless dopamine or gamification, but something more meaningful. I'm still early in my journey but having once been a computer science student (who later dropped out), it's been nice to get a quality math education again. Math can and should be a lifelong endeavor, and the versatility of the program (early childhood to college+) makes it suitable for anyone. Bonus points for a thoughtful use of AI that is not unnecessarily overpowering.
