Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 22, 2025

We value your privacy. This policy sets out your privacy rights and how we collect, use, disclose, transfer, and store your personal data.

Terms we use in this policy

"Atrium," "we," "our," or "us" means Renaissance Education Studio Inc. (operator of Atrium), which is the entity responsible for processing your personal data. "Website" or "platform" means all of Atrium's websites and applications, including exploreatrium.com.

Third-party websites

Our platform contains links to other websites. Review those sites' privacy policies; their practices may differ from ours.

Open platform

Atrium is an open platform for reviews of education providers (tools, apps, schools, enrichment programs, camps, etc.). When you write a review, the review and your profile are visible to anyone who visits our platform. By clicking your profile, visitors may see your country/location and the reviews you've written. If you claim a provider page on behalf of an organization, that claim is visible. Depending on your profile information and chosen username, you may or may not be anonymous to other visitors.

Personal data we collect

Personal data is information that relates to an identifiable individual. When you create an Atrium account, write a review, claim a provider page on behalf of your organization, or otherwise use our platform, we may collect and process:

  • Contact information: Name (or part thereof), phone number, email address, other contact details you provide.
  • Device and location information: IP address, browser settings (type, language, time zone), and approximate location.
  • User account information: Username, photo, location, preferred language.
  • Provider/Business account information: Organization name and domain, and other details you add to a provider/business profile (e.g., services offered).
  • Usage and profiling information: Search history on Atrium; how you interact with our platform (time on site, features used, links clicked).
  • Information about reviews and ratings, including:
    • Which provider you reviewed
    • Review content and rating
    • Location of the provider you reviewed
    • Dates you wrote, edited, or deleted the review
    • If we request verification, any documentation you submit (processed only for stated verification purposes)
  • Information about reports and replies from provider accounts: Your name, organization details, reply content, which review you reported, reason for report, date.
  • Preferences information: Consent selections, newsletter preferences, cookies reflecting your settings.
  • Communication information: Emails and messages you send us (feedback, support requests), and associated metadata (time, date).
  • Call recordings: If you call us or we call you, we may record calls for training and quality control. Personal data shared on calls may be recorded.
  • Information from other services, including social networks: If you connect a social profile, we may receive selected information (e.g., name/username, email, profile photo, social connections), subject to the network's settings and your permissions. You can disconnect at any time; we remove your social network unique ID and revoke connection. Your social profile image may remain unless you change it.

How we collect personal data

Primarily from you, when you create an account or interact with the platform (e.g., leaving reviews, posting replies). We also generate/collect information from your device automatically (e.g., IP, location, device/browser info) as you use our services.

Why and how we use your personal data

We use personal data to:

  • Provide services to you (display reviews; give access to your user account; enable provider/business accounts).
  • Identify you as a registered user at login and revisit.
  • Improve the platform and services.
  • Respond to questions and provide support.
  • Send newsletters and other communications (if subscribed or as permitted by law).
  • Perform internal business purposes (analytics, audits, fraud monitoring/prevention, developing/improving services, usage trend analysis, campaign effectiveness, operations).
  • Train staff and conduct quality control.
  • Exercise or comply with legal rights/obligations (e.g., required retention, lawful requests, regulatory compliance).

If you have an Atrium user account:

  • Verify the authenticity of your reviews (including documentation requests).
  • Invite you to leave additional reviews.
  • Contact you if a review is flagged and, if necessary, request verification.
  • Inform you when others interact with your reviews (e.g., find them helpful).
  • Facilitate optional social sharing or connections if you link a social account.
  • Enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines.

If you claim a provider page:

  • Notify you about reviews of your organization.
  • Verify legitimacy of your replies.
  • Inform you about feedback on your replies or reports.
  • Enforce our Terms.

We may also use information in other ways with notice at the time of collection.

Legal bases (where applicable)

  • Legal obligations: Operate a review platform in compliance with applicable laws; respond to lawful requests.
  • Legitimate interests: Run, secure, and improve our services proportionately and as necessary.
  • Consent: For specific activities (e.g., newsletters, certain cookies). You can withdraw consent at any time using provided controls or by contacting us (see "Contact us"). We may continue processing where another legal basis applies.

You may object to or request restriction of processing (see "Your rights").

Who may access your personal data?

Your personal data on Atrium

We publish your reviews to help others assess education providers. Other users can see your display name, location (e.g., country), all reviews you've written, and other information you connect to your public profile. If you connect a social network, some profile data may identify you on the platform. Only you can see which of your social contacts also use Atrium.

Your data when you claim a provider page

If you claim/manage a provider page, we may disclose organization name, address, domain, country, and other information you add to the public profile. Replies you post to reviews are visible to platform users.

Connected services

If you connect your Atrium account to a social network, information and reviews you provide—and data we compile about your use (e.g., review count)—may be displayed with your social profile, subject to that network's privacy policy.

Shared with other services/websites/businesses

To increase visibility of reviews, we may permit other services to display Atrium reviews (and providers' replies), such as:

  • Search engines
  • Providers reviewed on Atrium
  • Consumer/business portals (e.g., discovery or comparison sites)
  • Application partners and platforms
  • Other relevant websites where users look for reviews
  • Social networks

We do not share verification documentation you submit for review validation.

Shared with data processors

We use selected third parties ("processors") for technical operations and service delivery. They process personal data under our instructions, subject to data processing agreements and appropriate technical/organizational measures.

Some processors may be located outside your country. We implement safeguards for international transfers required by applicable law (e.g., approved transfer mechanisms).

Other disclosures

We may share data:

  • To comply with laws, legal process, and lawful requests from authorities.
  • With regulators/government for investigations or referrals.
  • To enforce our Terms.
  • To protect operations, rights, privacy, safety, or property (ours, affiliates, you, or others).
  • To pursue remedies or limit damages.
  • To investigate, prevent, or act on suspected prohibited activities (e.g., fraud, platform misuse).
  • In connection with reorganization, merger, acquisition, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer, or similar transactions (including insolvency).

How long we store personal data

We retain data only as long as necessary for the purposes described or as required by law, then delete or anonymize it. You can delete key personal data or request account deletion at any time (see "Your rights").

  • Personal data you provide, including reviews, is kept while you maintain an Atrium account or as needed to provide services.
  • If you request deletion of your account, we keep a minimal log (e.g., name, email, date of deletion) for up to three years; other information, including reviews, is deleted.
  • In some cases, archival/backup copies may persist for longer in secure, limited-access systems.
  • Personal data we receive from providers who invite you to review may be retained for up to three years.

Security

We implement organizational, technical, and administrative measures to protect personal data and regularly assess our systems. No transmission or storage method is completely secure. Emails sent via the platform may not be encrypted—avoid sending confidential information by email.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies (pixels, tracking codes) to deliver, optimize, personalize, and analyze services, and for advertising/measurement consistent with this policy.

  • Cookies: Small text files stored via your browser to remember settings, run experiments, and improve experience.
  • Pixels: Transparent images to understand interactions with pages/emails.
  • Tracking codes: Snippets used to measure visits and interactions.

See our Cookie Policy for details on types and controls.

Your rights

If you have an Atrium account, you can access or edit key profile data at any time. You can also request deletion of key data or your entire account.

You may have rights to: access, correction, deletion, objection, restriction, and data portability, subject to legal limits (e.g., protecting others' data, legal retention). If you have unresolved concerns, you may contact a data protection authority.

Correction and deletion

Update or delete information via your account. Otherwise, email hello@exploreatrium.com to request correction or deletion. If your account is deleted, associated data—including reviews—is deleted (subject to the minimal deletion log and backups noted above).

Other rights

You may object to certain processing, including direct marketing, and request restriction where appropriate. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time via provided controls or by contacting us; prior processing remains lawful.

California privacy rights (if applicable)

For California consumers, you may have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including: right to be informed, deletion, opt-out of certain data "sales"/"sharing" as defined by law, disclosure/access, and non-discrimination. See sections above for categories collected, purposes, and disclosures.

Requests: email hello@exploreatrium.com. We may verify using information associated with your account (e.g., email). You may designate an authorized agent as permitted by law.

Children's information

Our platform is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided personal data, contact hello@exploreatrium.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will post changes here and may provide additional notice if changes materially alter your rights. Continued use of the platform after notice means you accept the updated policy.
